Sainte Martina was celebrated on January 30. Born in Rome and comes from a famous family, Martina is the daughter of a consul famous for his faith and charity. After the death of his father, Martina sold all her possession and did works of charity and mercy for the poor.
On this January 29, we celebrate the memory of Saint Gildas the wise. Comes from a noble family in Great Britain, Gildas was born in Scotland towards the end of the fifth century when the Bretons, Roman citizens, fought against the Saxon invaders.
Congratulations to Sylvester because on this last day of the year, December 31, we celebrate Saint Sylvester. Born in 280, Sylvester is the son of Rufinus, priest and Justa, Roman citizens. His mother entrusted his education to a priest named Cyrinus.

29 December - Thomas Becket is born in 1117 to a wealthy family in London. With the support of his family, he was able to continue his studies in Paris. He worked with Thibaut, Archbishop of Canterbury, who sent him to Rome from 1151 to 1153 and to the schools of Bologna and Auxerre where he trained as a lawyer.
