Worldwide, 120,000,000 people are infected with Lymphatic Filariasis, especially in these regions: in Africa, Asia, Central and South America, but there are 104 districts affected in Madagascar, where the Ministry is carrying out info-awareness campaigns. Lymphatic filariasis is a swelling of the legs or genitals, or breasts. A swelling caused by filarial parasites that enlarge and block the blood vessels and are transmitted by mosquito bites .
