Tuesday May 25, 2021 - Eighth week in Ordinary Time - Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, you have revealed to the little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom! - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 10, 28-31

Through baptism, we are in total union with Christ: we have him for the center of our life, and we are ready to leave everything for him. It was the apostles who experienced it first. Sometimes, like them, we too, our thinking leads us to ask for security in return, what reward then for us who have left everything? Even though Peter did not directly affirm it, he asked thus: “Here we have left everything to follow you Jesus.”, It is as if he meant: what will we receive as assurance? And there Jesus made it clear that those who left his own for him and for the gospel will never be at a loss, they will receive a hundredfold already at this time. In other words, the consecration of our whole life to make Jesus Christ, the Good News known to others is a richness in itself; because by this we can increase the number of believers, even disciples of Jesus, even if there is persecution of all kinds as a result of our testimony in different aspects of life. This is the promise of Jesus, already in this world today.

But above all, the most precious promise he made was that of eternal life in the world to come. In fact, the purpose of our life is to gain eternal life, to be with God in his kingdom. Jesus never failed us in his promise, and neither will he. But when we follow him, we should have absolute trust in him without the slightest doubt and move forward in faith. Amen.
