15 July - He was born to Giovanni da Fidanza and Maria Ritella. Baptised Giovanni at birth, he later takes the name "Bonaventure". According to a 15th century tradition, the young Giovanni, who was seriously ill, was brought to Francis of Assisi, who cried out when he saw him: "O buona ventura!". ("What luck!").

14 July - Camille was the son of an officer who had served in the Neapolitan and French armies. His mother died when he was still a child and his upbringing was completely neglected. At a young age he became a soldier in the service of Venice and then Naples, until 1574, when his regiment was dissolved.

13 July - Son of Henry the Quarrelsome, Duke of Bavaria and Gisele of Burgundy, daughter of King Conrad III of Burgundy, Henry, destined to be a cleric like his brother Bruno, is educated by the Church, first by Bishop Abraham of Freising, then in the cathedral school of Hildesheim.

12 July - Jean Gualbert, a native of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa in the Province of Florence from a rich family of the city. He is brought up in excess, but his life changes the day he forgives his brother's (or a relative's) executioner by meditating on the passion of Christ.

Love and Salvation

Christmas is a great joy, because it is the love of God that has come to us, proclaims Fr. Bizimana Innocent, Provincial Superior of the Salesians Don Bosco of Madagascar and Mauritius, presenting his Christmas greetings. Salvation is accomplished, so life is not in danger of disappearing.
