July 25 - James of Zebedee, or James the Greater, one of the Twelve, brother of the apostle John, is mentioned in the Synoptic Gospels. The two brothers are like fishermen on Lake Tiberias who leave their boat to follow Jesus. He is called Major to differentiate him from James of Alpheus, another of the Twelve.
July 24 - Charbel, born Youssef Antoun Makhlouf in Bekaa Kafra (North Lebanon) on May 8, 1828. Son of Antoun Zaarour Makhlouf and Birgita Chidiac, humble Maronite peasants (Eastern Catholic Christians), the young Youssef, receives a very pious education, which gives him from childhood a strong taste for prayer.
July 23 - Brigitte of Sweden, daughter of Birger Persson, Swedish prince and descendant of the Brahe family, was born in 1303 in Sweden on the Finsta farm in the historic province of Uppland. Mother of eight children including Catherine of Sweden.
22 July - Originally from the city of Magdala, on the western shore of Lake Tiberias, Mary Magdalene or Mary of Magdala, sister of Martha and Lazarus, is the most present woman in the New Testament.

Christmas is a great joy, because it is the love of God that has come to us, proclaims Fr. Bizimana Innocent, Provincial Superior of the Salesians Don Bosco of Madagascar and Mauritius, presenting his Christmas greetings. Salvation is accomplished, so life is not in danger of disappearing. It is this love and this salvation that we wish to fill our life so that we have peace.
