The work of government is also mentioned in the Bible when Jesus Christ called the tax collectors. Matthew was a tax collector who was called by Jesus Christ and accepted as he did the work according to the responsibility entrusted to him. The publicans were civil servants, tax collectors in the ports, demanding exorbitant taxes, but accepting to transform themselves into fishers of men. Catechesis on work, in collaboration with P. August 14, 2023 — Monday, Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time — Odd Year — God has called you through the Gospel to possess the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ — Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew (Mt 17: 22-27)

Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh and the flesh made bread; he is the seed sown, the seed received in the Eucharist. The baptised Christian is the place where this Eucharist is sown, where faith and hope live on. We can say that the faithful are fertile ground, especially if they actively receive communion and the sacrament of confession. Piety, charity and friendship are the reservoirs of water used to irrigate the faith so that it can grow.

The relationship between work and money is a misconception, because work existed before money. Money is the result of work. When money is important, we become slaves to others. The holy family lived by work, not by begging on the street. God exalts work. Catechesis on work, in collaboration with P. Rakotondramanana Soloniaina Jean Emilien.
