In fact, in many dialogues, we actually don't communicate at all. We simply wait for the other person to finish speaking to impose our point of view. In these situations, as the philosopher Abraham Kaplan notes, the dialogue is a duo-logue, a monologue in two voices. Several families living together, united to form a nation.
