The common good cannot be divided: if everyone takes it for himself, it appears as a common good. The common good belongs both to the public and to each individual. The realization of the common good cannot be achieved by one person alone, but by everyone working together. The Catholic Church encourages joint efforts to preserve the common good. All aspects of this common good are affected when people are overwhelmed by the love of money. Remember that how we live and what we do affects others elsewhere because our daily lives are interconnected. The common good is our Christian hope, a hope that will benefit humanity.
