Placental anomalies are common and occur during pregnancy. In developing countries, many women die in childbirth, which is why the Ministry of Health encourages women to give birth in health centers; it has also trained midwives. The placenta is a temporary organ, filled with blood vessels, which forms the link between the child and the mother during pregnancy. The placenta's function is to supply oxygen to the baby and release carbon dioxide, to slowly turn the baby's kidneys and liver, and to protect the baby from disease or other attack...
