According to what is written in the Old Testament: "You shall hold a holy meeting on the first day, and you shall hold a holy meeting on the seventh day. You shall not work on those days" Ex. 12,16. If we look at what is written, the question that should not arise is whether it is Saturday or Sunday that prayer can be done, for both are holy days of assembly. Catechesis on Sunday observance, in collaboration with Fr. Wagner Randriamampandry.

In the Old Testament it is written: "Keep the Sabbath day holy, as the Lord your God commanded you". Here it is clear that the Sabbath day is to be observed and kept holy. Lay people are all baptised Christians who have not received the sacrament of Holy Orders and who do not belong to a religious organisation approved by the Church. Lay people have dignity because they are part of the people of God with equal rights and dignity before God and the Church.
