Rôrô is a new social phenomenon that is gaining ground in the country. Farmers and khat sellers say that khat is very cheap, because only a small quantity is sold, and that's already a lot of money. For khat consumers, it's very expensive to use. The price of khat is very high from May to July, because it's hard to find and more expensive than cigarettes. Lack of purchasing power leads to disputes within the household. To obtain the "cathinone" from khat, the leaves must be chewed and soaked in the mouth for 3 to 4 hours. If khat is not consumed for 3 days after cutting, its taste changes and it is no longer very effective.
