The Psalm was a prayer in the Jewish temple; the starting point of its writings was the world around the temple. The Psalms did not end as prayers in the temple, but continued in the synagogues of each village. The Psalms played an important role in the Jewish religion, choosing not a place but a Temple or Synagogue...
