Pope Francis urged the Church around the world this May to pray with the Blessed Virgin Mary for the Covid-19 pandemic to end. This trial is an opportunity to witness our firm faith and nourish our hope through bodily and spiritual gestures of love to help others.
When we talk about attitudes for living, we are constantly thinking about what to do for ourselves. However, an individual cannot truly flourish, although he succeeds in all areas, if he is not in harmony with his community, his social environment. To go towards the other, to understand him, requires a firm will and a sustained effort of self-sacrifice. The first step in this effort is to refrain from hasty judgment and prejudice.
At the end of its second General Assembly, held from 15 to 18 October 2024, the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace sent a message to government officials at all levels, as well as to all Malagasy and all people of goodwill.
