The School was born in response to the two actions proposed by the Project of Animation and Government of the Dicastery of Social Communication (2020-2026), on the basis of the programmatic proposal of the Rector Major after the 28th General Chapter: Living the Salesian Sacrament presence (Priority n ° 3).
The course aims to deepen, form and enrich those who engage in the direction of the ministry / service of Social Communication in the different Salesian Provinces of the world, in an evangelical, synodal, Salesian and convergent perspective on Communication, to evangelize and educate today's youth. The proposed themes, which will be studied for 16 months, are the result of the analysis of the main training needs of the provincial representatives in social communication. The Dicastery has defined the first five themes. Fr. Gildásio Mendes, General Councilor for Social Communication, opened this first online meeting with his presentation. Fr. Mendes proposed a biblical vision of Social Communication, accompanying the participants' reflection with a text, then with a moment of sharing.
In America, the organization and logistics are the responsibility of the Social Communication America (ECSA) team, made up of regional representatives and representatives of the sectors (Salesian Bulletin, Salesian radio and publishing houses).
