Pride and greed are among the seven deadly sins of others, but jealousy is related to them. These negative traits are found in the social world and they harm many things. Many people do not accept suggestions from friends around them, but display a bad character full of pride. Many rich people are greedy and do not care about the common good.
Today, there are many things that disturb people and push them to seek and need salvation. The "fady" is linked to the life of the Malagasy people, and it is linked to the life of Christians and young people who are looking for and eagerly waiting for peace and salvation. However, the church often tends to criticize and condemn these customs and prohibitions as bad manners or to interpret them as superstitions. A "fady" is something or someone that cannot be mentioned, named, touched or done.
The soul has three powers: intelligence, memory and the third is the will. Freedom resides in our souls. Freedom and will are important in human life. There are many chaotic homes and many young people who do not control themselves because of the lack of discernment of what "freedom" means. Humans lose their dignity because they seek freedom too much.
The vocation of God that is addressed to us at Easter time is what is said in Saint Mark: "... go into the world, preach the Gospel to every creature...". God's vocation is important to be a priest or a religious or to be a lay person in consecration, or to get married.
At the end of its second General Assembly, held from 15 to 18 October 2024, the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace sent a message to government officials at all levels, as well as to all Malagasy and all people of goodwill.
