In the Old Testament, the word "Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel" is used only three times, including the word "Israel". In his prayer, Elijah invokes the God of his ancestors who had made a covenant of peace with them and who never ceased to renew the promise in that covenant. Not only did he build the house of the Lord, but he led the people to look back and helped them to move forward in depth, giving importance to the past. Fire poured out and burnt the sacrifice, and the wood, the stones, the earth and the surrounding waters dried up. Fire symbolises God's purifying power.
