Saint Maris, his wife Sainte Martha and their son Saints Audifax and Abacum were martyrs in Roma in 270, during the Aurelian persecution, ender its ruler Claudius II Gothicus.

Orginary of Persia , this family distributed their goods to the poor and went to pirglimage to Jerusalem and Roma. THe father and the son were doctors.The family's assistance to the persecuted brought it to the attention of the authorities. Judge Muscianus had them tortured, but they did not recant.They were taken to Nymphæ Catabassi, thirteen miles from Roma. Maris and his son were decapitated. Martha was drowned in a well.

Orders has been given to burn the remains of the martyrs, buta certain Felicitas was able to save a part of it , and buried them in the catacombs on January 20.

Love and Salvation
