05 May - Udith von Sangerhausen, born and married in Thuringia; died in Kulmsee (former East Prussia) on 12 May 1260. Became an early widow, she left her country and her relatives.
It went to Prussia, the stronghold of the Teutonic Knights, whose grandmaster was Hanon von Sangerhausen, his brother. It was in Kulmsee, under the protection of Hanon, that she spent the rest of her life in good deeds and prayer. Judith became the national patroness of the Prussians.
At the end of its second General Assembly, held from 15 to 18 October 2024, the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace sent a message to government officials at all levels, as well as to all Malagasy and all people of goodwill.
