Friday, November 5, 2021 - Thirty-first week of Ordinary Time - In him who keeps the word of Christ God's love comes to perfection to him - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 16, 1-8

With this parable, Jesus shows us the trust that God has placed in us. Trust that we have abused since we have turned our backs on it. From a purely human gaze, it is a bit disconcerting to see that the master praises this dishonest manager. In reality, it is not a question of praising his failure, but of considering his insight and the skill which he shows to recover the goods of his master. Likewise, God loves us, not for our betrayal, but for our efforts to speak his word.

Our talents and intelligence should be used for the good and not the other way around. Indeed, in our time, it is more than urgent to announce the word of God in another way: a New evangelization. It is no longer possible for us to be satisfied with the classic, usual form of evangelization. However, this requires a great deal of intelligence and the deployment of enormous talents, despite our weaknesses.

God has given us his trust since we are no longer servants, but his children, through baptism. He gave us intelligence and so many other capacities so that we already found his reign on earth.
