Sunday October 10, 2021 - Twenty-eighth Sunday of Ordinary Time - Blessed are the poor in heart, for the kingdom of Heaven is theirs - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Marka 10, 17-27

Today's Gospel helps us answer an important and still relevant question: "How to have eternal life? What path must we travel to reach eternal life? How to coordinate the relationship between the search for goods and the walk after Christ to have eternal life? "

In the Gospel, Jesus shows us three paths, a little radical, but very clear:

First, to have eternal life, we must "keep the commandments." Here, Jesus insists on the commandments concerning the duties towards the neighbor: not to kill, not to commit adultery, not to steal ... In short, if we want eternal life, we must improve relationships with neighbors; in other words, Jesus tells us this "Be sociable, if you want eternal life."

The second path is to follow Jesus Christ Himself by adopting his lifestyle: renouncing goods, in other words detaching oneself emotionally from earthly goods and lovingly helping the poor.

Finally, we need the grace of God, because eternal life is a gift. It is this grace that allows us to be sociable and able to give up all our possessions to help the poor.

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth
