Wednesday August 11, 2021 - Nineteenth week of Ordinary Time - In Christ, God reconciled the world with him: he put the word of reconciliation in our mouths - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 18, 15-20
Conflict is always possible in a human relationship, and the wrong one has done harms that relationship. The impact of this deterioration is not reduced to the only relationship between men, but also affects the one with God. The teaching of Christ on this day pushes us to maintain this relationship so that it is harmonious, it encourages us to do everything possible so that we get along with each other first, then to walk together towards a perfect communion with God. It is a question of bringing us closer, of dialogue, a capital step to iron out the differences and to become aware of our wrongs and their consequences. And above all so as not to leave the deteriorated relationship as it is following our faults, but that we make our contribution so that the kingdom of God comes into being, namely the reign of Love. What we do here on earth is always recognized by God, according to the Gospel we have just heard.
In a prayer that is so familiar to us, we ask: "Your kingdom come ... on earth as it is in heaven". It is an obligation, an effort, a struggle that must begin, first within us, and in which we must take part every day so that it is not just a passive request. Moreover, the reign of God is a life which tends towards perfection, far from conflicts of vengeance and violence. So let us do everything we can to make this happen and our communion with God to be effective.
