Monday June 7, 2021 - Tenth week in Ordinary Time - Rejoice, be glad, for your reward is great in heaven - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 5, 1-12

Dear Christians, starting this tenth week in ordinary time and for three months, we will focus each day on the Gospel of Saint Matthew and that begins with chapter 5. The four previous chapters have been presented to us during the times. Christmas and Lent. In relation to Mark, Matthew transcribes the teachings of Jesus in a literal way. He presents these teachings in five groups including: the sermon on the mount (5 to 7), preparation of the disciples for their mission (10), the parables of the kingdom of Heaven (13), teachings on cohabitation within the Church (18) and the teachings on eternal life (24 and 25).

The first word of Jesus to begin his teaching is "happy" ("happy are those" there are eight), because the happiness of man is the concern of God by creating him in his image. It began with the placement of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, a symbol of the paradise that awaits us as well. Knowing that true happiness is found in God, it behooves us to make the necessary efforts to achieve it, and Jesus, through his teachings, gives us directions to follow.

"Happy ... the meek, the poor, those who are hungry ...", all this is part of our daily life, let's not try to think that it is God who puts us in the wheel so that we can be happy. It is each time the consequences of our actions that turn against us. Either way, God rewards happiness for our efforts in accordance with Christian virtue. The kingdom of Heaven, consolation, mercy ... are a grace that is possible for us, we just have to make the effort to be able to receive it.

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth
