Monday, May 31, 2021 - The Visitation of the Virgin Mary - Happy are you, Virgin Mary, you who believed that the words of the Lord would be fulfilled for you - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 1, 39-56

The Gospel tells us about the meeting of two sisters, two exceptional mothers. A meeting that is a source of joy, because despite the distance from their respective homes, they are close by hearts overflowing with love. Marie went to Elisabeth's house, not for a passing visit such as ordinary acquaintances do, but according to the scriptures, she stayed there for about three months. She left her own home to help and support her sister.

Dear Christians, we are faced with two privileged mothers in the history of salvation. It was during the visitation that the divine motherhood of Mary was manifested, for "when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the child quivered in her. Then Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and cried out of a strong voice: ...from where is it given to me, that the mother of my Lord come to me? ... Happy is she who believed in the fulfillment of the words spoken to her from of the Lord ". Mary's visit to Elizabeth is the symbol of God who comes to meet men through the birth of the child she is carrying.
