Monday May 10, 2021 - Sixth week of Easter Season - The Spirit of truth, will bear witness on my behalf, says the Lord. And you too will bear witness - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 15, 26 — 16, 4

Jesus foretells the persecutions the disciples will suffer. He wanted to warn them of the risk of being with him; the price to pay to be his disciple. They will be persecuted because the persecutors really do not know who God the Father is and who Jesus his Son is. They do not know that God is Love and he wants everyone to be saved. These persecutions are expressed in different ways: excommunication from the synagogue, assassination.

Regarding how to face persecution, Jesus first invites his disciples to continue to bear witness to him with words, with examples and his disciples are not to be scandalized at the persecution, for the testimony coincides and always always goes with martyrdom. Then, Jesus invites his disciples to let themselves be guided by the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, that is to say the Defender. It is the Holy Spirit who will give strength to strengthen the inner conviction of the disciples; to give courage to bear witness to what Jesus Himself once said: "But, when you are delivered, do not worry about how to speak or what to say: what you have to say will be given to you at the time. , for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who will speak in you ". So let us be ready to face all kinds of persecution coming from the family, from the society in which we live, from our work environment. Let us be docile to the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth
