Thursday April 29, 2021 - Fourth week of Paschal Time - Jesus Christ, faithful witness, firstborn from the dead, you love us, and by your blood you deliver us from sin - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 13, 16-20

Jesus, after washing the feet of his disciples, transmits to them a profound teaching: "The servant is not greater than his master, nor the sent greater than he who sent him."

The mission of Jesus is the accomplishment of what the Father sent him for. It is a mission that must be carried out in all humility, out of love and with a spirit of service. He has set a good example for us to follow and we must always be ready to be of service to our neighbors. The fact that he washed the feet of his disciples is a sign of service and humility to us. He is then our model. In addition, he even teaches us the law of love, the meaning of forgiveness.

He thus invites us to continue the work of the Father. To this, He confirms that we must know how to welcome the one whom he has sent: "whoever welcomes the one whom I have sent welcomes me and who welcomes me, welcomes the one who sent me." Because neither He nor the one who 'he sends only continues the work of God and transmits the word of the Father. We the baptized are all invited to continue the expansion of the kingdom of God. We are sent not to preach our own word, but to transmit the message of God where we are, following the example of Christ Lord Jesus, grant us the graces and the strength that I need to work for the advent of your kingdom.

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth

At the end of its second General Assembly, held from 15 to 18 October 2024, the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace sent a message to government officials at all levels, as well as to all Malagasy and all people of goodwill.
