Friday March 19, 2021 - Saint Joseph, husband of the Virgin Mary - Blessed are the inhabitants of your house, Lord: they will be able to sing to you again - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 1, 16. 18-21. 24

Today the feast of Saint Joseph is celebrated and this is also told in the Gospel. It is important to underline that Pope Francis dedicated this year to Saint Joseph.

God gave Joseph a very great responsibility, of course it is not easy to suddenly find oneself at the head of the Holy Family with the responsibility of educating Jesus, the Son of God. From the start, Joseph knew that the child Mary was carrying was not his. However, out of love for her and to accept God's will, he married her and took care of the child. So it is not easy to follow the will of God, it requires great faith and a lot of humility.

By assuming this responsibility entrusted to him by God, he has always worked in silence. Joseph teaches us that vanity and pride do not go hand in hand with responding to God's call, especially when it has been successful.

Through his unwavering faith, Joseph teaches us how to be with God and how to do his will. He has always fulfilled his responsibilities as a father of a family with love and joy, even in the face of the difficulties he may have encountered. So let's be faithful to God no matter what mission he gives us.

Saint Joseph, pray for us

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth
