Monday March 8, 2021 - Third week of Lent - I hope the Lord, and I wait for his word near the Lord is love, the abundance of redemption - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 4, 24-30

"Truly I tell you, no prophet is well received in his homeland" is Jesus' response to the people of his village. They thought that Jesus is only human, for them he is only the son of the carpenter. They do not welcome Jesus as the Son of God. We believe that Jesus is true God and true man. We cannot separate humanity from Jesus and his divinity. But the people of his village only recognize him as the son of Mary and Joseph. This is why they reject the teaching of Jesus. But that did not prevent Jesus from continuing his mission.

It is also time for us to assess our relationship with Christ, do we really know him? Let us probe the depth of the knowledge we have of him. Do we welcome Christ as true God and true man? Knowing how to recognize the nature of Christ helps us to feel that Christ also fought temptations like us, but he always knew how to overcome them, because he put his life in the hands of his Father, he was in permanent relationship with the Father through prayer.
