Saturday February 6, 2021 - Fourth week in ordinary time - My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord; I know them, and they follow me - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 6, 30-34

Dear Christians, the apostles give an account of their mission. They left Jesus, went to where they were sent, and returned to Jesus: giving an account, entrusting Him with what they have accomplished and rejuvenating themselves. At the same time, there is the fact that faith deepens, when it is reviewed in assembly during the various meetings. You can't say: it's not my faith, it's a matter between me and God. Dialogue drives forward. Attendance for the Sunday assembly, added to meetings in associations and movements, just that can already strengthen faith.

Jesus ordered his disciples to retire to take rest. This is what is lacking in the man of our time, always in pursuit of the agitations of life: running here, bustling there. Result: fatigue. The various diseases then appear due to the constraints of everyday life. We become sick and puny, irascible, angry to the point of being aggressive. We don't even find time to pray anymore. We are all advised to leave some time each day for silence, to reflect and to pray. It is good for the body to rest and pray can only do good for the soul.

Jesus took pity on the crowd that followed him, a hungry and thirsty people, like sheep without a shepherd. This compassionate heart is the heart of God not knowing how to remain indifferent to the suffering of his children. May our hearts beat with that of Jesus the Good Shepherd, not a heart of stone but a heart of flesh, knowing how to love, gathering together those who are scattered, satisfying the hungry and thirsty, caring for the sick and leading them to eternal pasture . Amen.
