John has just told us that God's plan of salvation for the world is fulfilled, made manifest and visible in Jesus Christ, the Word became flesh. Jesus Christ: Eternal Word through whom all things were made, life and light for man. Through his Son, the Word incarnated in the womb of Mary, God brings man out of darkness into light, to receive and taste grace, making us partakers of his divine nature, so that we may be holy like Him. This is particularly evident during Christmas celebrations. God accepted to become man, to lead us humans into a new life with Him. Let us follow Him.
