Wednesday, December 25, 2019 — Nativity of the Lord — Gospel of Jesus-Christ according to Saint Luke 2, 15-20 — "Glory to the Lord in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favours" 

The word of Jesus has been already fulfilled here:" I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to little children." The shepherds, in Jewish society, were considered as less than second class citizens. However, it was to them that the angel first revealed that the messiah was born in the city of Bethlehem. It is also a symbol of Christ coming as Good Shepherd.
