After casting out an evil spirit from a man, Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law, who had a fever. And unclean spirits came out and many people cried out, "You are the Son of God". Healing and casting out evil spirits tells us that Jesus is victorious and is liberator. The people saw this mission of Christ and asked him to stay among them. They saw in Him the source of life that they no longer wanted to be separated from Jesus. This can be seen as selfishness because they thought only of themselves. But Jesus replied, "To the other cities as well, I must proclaim the Good News of God's reign." Jesus did not come for a minority but for everyone. He is the source of life for all of us. We all benefit from Him, as does the healing and forgiveness that He provides in order to serve Him again like Peter's mother-in-law.

Therefore, the proclamation of the Gospel is not only for us Christians, but also for those who persecute us and those who do not even know Jesus. This does not mean forcing them to convert to Christianity, but announcing to them the Good News, who Jesus is and what His message is, then it is up to them to choose. Like Jesus, we must today proclaim the Good News to all.

So let us not keep our faith in Jesus for ourselves, but let us share it with others. His message to his disciples is now addressed to us: "Make disciples of all nations.

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth

At the end of its second General Assembly, held from 15 to 18 October 2024, the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace sent a message to government officials at all levels, as well as to all Malagasy and all people of goodwill.
