Tuesday, June 23, 2020 - Twelfth week of Ordinary Time - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 7, 6. 12-14 - I am the light of the world, says the Lord. Whoever follows me will have the light of life.
It is an advice of prudence and respect for sacred things. What God has given, what He has shared, is a sacred and precious reality because it is His very life that He has communicated to men. And the latter not only deserves respect and caution, but also needs to be nurtured. This is Christian life and identity.
Here Jesus teaches us the golden rule, human morality, a maxim of wisdom: "Do to others whatever you would have them do to you". The latter does not consist only in not harming others, but is a charity to be lived; for we Christians have taken God as a model to be imitated.
