Monday, April 27, 2020 - Third week of Easter - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 6, 22-29 - Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

People began to look for Jesus after He multiplied the bread, not for the meaning of this miracle, but because they had eaten and were full. Man is too preoccupied with the search for material goods to the detriment of the essential. Jesus does not condemn work for survival, but He wants us to go further, in search, not of survival, but of eternal life. This work of searching consists in faith in God the Father who gives eternal life to those who believe in Jesus his Son.

Believing in Jesus is for us the means to accomplish God's will. Believing in Jesus is not only limited to a knowledge of his person or an acknowledgement of his existence, but to being in total communion with Him. Let us implore the Lord to make the bread of eternal life last in us.
