Wednesday, February 19, 2020 — Six week of Ordinary time — Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 8, 22-26 — May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ open the eyes of our hearts to his light, so that we may perceive the hope that his call gives.

The nature of Christ continues to assert itself more and more. He who is the Messiah Son of God who only thinks of relieving all evils in all their forms. It is not only a question of physical healing but essentially of revealing the mystery of the kingdom of God, that is to say, the fulfilment of God's plan in Christ, the One who acts in every man.

In this case of healing a visually impaired person, it is not only about Christ using his powers and might, but about the revelation of the expected Messiah (Mt 11:5), the one who comes from God (Jn 9:33) and who is the light of the world, the way to God.
