The Eucharistic sacrifice we celebrate is our ultimate union with the divine service of the Church in heaven. When we really pray, the saints are not far from us. The teaching of the Council says in Doctrine of the Church, Light of the World, number 50 that: because we are looking at the lives of those who followed Christ, we find the reason to start looking for the future City...
