Some of these producing regions are currently harvesting vanilla. The vanilla harvest dates in Madagascar have been adjusted according to cultivation techniques ...

The purpose of the technique is that the Madagascan vanilla is of good quality and meets the standards of the international market. There is a fixed date for the vanilla harvest and it varies from region to region. The end of vanilla exports from Madagascar has been postponed until the end of June, so the government will be strict in monitoring the harvest season.

This was done to avoid exploitation in this lucrative sector of the country as explained by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Ranarivelo Lucien. He further stated that the implementation of the measure is in everyone's interest.

Some areas are now in the middle of harvest season, including Diana and Sofia.
