The production of organic food by farmers is also becoming important today. The ‘Lanja Miakatra’ Association is making a major research effort to improve the productivity of its members. This has been done in order to be able to offer good quality food to customers, as well as to promote the livelihoods of its members, through organic production without the use of chemical fertilisers, said Mr Ranaivoarison Basile or Papa Bio.


It is possible to combat poverty in rural areas, said Papa Bio, by applying organic production through the use of vermicompost in production. This is reflected in the farmers who are members of the Lanja Miakata association.
