Farmers trained at the ‘Fimanganana Filamatra Soa Imbonana’ or FISOI in the Commune of Mahintsy and the Soa Mitsinho in the Commune of Antanetibe-Mahazaza have received material support to promote livestock breeding and honey production in the Ambohidratrimo district...
The distribution of beehives to beneficiaries took place today in the commune of Antanetibe-Mahazaza, and the honey-producing hives were brought to the farm. This support is important for the commune and its farmers,’ said deputy mayor Rakotomanjato Lala Séraphin.
Those from Ilo Raitra Apiculteur produced the equipment, which was presented to the beekeepers from FISOI and Soamitsinjo. The beneficiaries, Ms Julie and Mr Miandry, are ready to promote beekeeping and honey production.
Thanks to the joint project of the SOA Network and the FFF FAO, it has been possible to train these farmers and provide them with equipment so that they can start beekeeping. The aim of the collaboration is to build a production line and a production chain starting from the forest, so that this year beekeeping is allocated a special area, so that small businesses can be set up in the countryside.
