The foreign market for honey products is still wide open. The Madagascar Chamber of Agriculture has a partnership that enables it to export up to 18 tonnes of products a year. Beekeeping is a priority activity in the latest joint project between the FFF FAO or Farm and Forest Facility and the Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber of Agriculture organizes a competition for beekeeping entrepreneurs in its eight member organizations or at the OPFA, to enable them to develop into professional entrepreneurs in their core business. The three most deserving among them will receive material support, as explained by National President of the Chamber of Agriculture Razafimbololona Ageline.
The National Agricultural Producers and the FAO are working together through the FFF or Farm ant Forest Facility, which is specifically based on the promotion of the forest-based production chain.
The aim of the project is to enable producers to cope with climate change and improve the livelihoods of forest and agricultural production systems in our country. The project will run until 2025. It works in four areas of the island: Diana, Sofia, Analamanga and Atsinanana.
