June 1st, World Dairy Day. Malagasy consumption of milk and dairy products is still low compared to populations in Africa and Europe. 16 liters of milk per year is the challenge for a Malagasy to drink, while in Africa it's 40 liters per person and in Europe it's reached 200 liters per person...

The Ministry and the Malagasy Dairy Board (MDB), together with their partners, have set themselves the goal of increasing Malagasy milk consumption and improving the quality of the product. This is what happened today during the celebration of World Milk Day, to encourage Malagasy people to consume milk and milk products.

The first event to celebrate World Milk Day was the sensitization of pupils at EPP Ambohimiandra, second arrondissement, Antananarivo Capitale, to the benefits of milk and milk products as a health-giving food. More than 360 students drank from cups of milk from the various officials who graced the ceremony presided over by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dr. Raymond, officially opening World Milk Day. The second event marking World Milk Day for us in Madagascar today is the official opening of the fifth Coin Ma-tsiro milk collection and sales center at Mandroseza in the second arrondissement of Antananarivo Capitale.

At the end of its second General Assembly, held from 15 to 18 October 2024, the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace sent a message to government officials at all levels, as well as to all Malagasy and all people of goodwill.

Love and Salvation
