10th Sunday, Year B: The family, struggling at home, will not last; I have called you friends, says the Lord, because I have told you all that I have heard from my Father. We should not be surprised if, for example, those at home do not believe what is being said, such as what Jesus experienced. The word ‘devil’ comes from the Greek word ‘Diabolos’ which means ‘divider’, ‘separator’, ‘destroyer’. We humans do not oppose the Holy Spirit when we do the Father's will. It's up to people to plan their future, the choices are theirs and they are responsible for the consequences of their choices. Forcing people to make their own choices through various gifts is violence, especially if it has negative consequences for those with whom they will be involved. A mother is a source of hope, a source of love, a source of simplicity. The mother transfers life to the child, who comes from God. But life is always in danger, and the basis of war is often the defence of the breath of life, life is love. The education that takes place in the family is a source of hope, for which the mother is responsible. Women live longer than men, a reflection of hope.
