July 4, 2024 — Thursday, Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time — God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation — Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew (Mt 9: 1-8)
What's important is that Abraham trusted the Lord's words, which is why the way we think about our relationship with God grew out of them. He became a man of God, and the three great faiths - Jews, Christians and Muslims - all accept this. To pray is to work with hope, not to work flippantly or to say: you've already prayed and do you need to work again? Many people get discouraged when their prayers are not answered. July 3, 2024 — Saint Thomas, Apostle — Feast — You believe in me, Thomas, because you have seen me, says the Lord; blessed are those who have not seen, but still believe — Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John (Jn 20: 24-29)
The voice of God is not stopped by anyone, but it is not heard by those who do not want to hear it. We say God's call: a call inviting Abraham to a path he did not know, which was addressed to this Father of Believers, but he left because he trusted in the one who was calling him and that was God. Abraham left his homeland and his family because that's what prayer is all about; leave everything behind and think about what God is saying.
