We have also already begun a basketball tournament which is part of the festivity which prepare the feast of Don Bosco in January.

During this week too, has been arrived the 32 aspirants who will start their course in order to enter the Salesian congregation. Some come from Betafo as Viewers, or as aspirants “zandry” and who just got their high school degree. Others come from some of our communities such as Ijely and Ankililoaka, where they did their first experience in the knowledge of congregation. They are welcomed by the community and are comfortable, even though the heat and weather of Mahajanga surprised them a little.

In the Church and in the Oratorio, the activities have already begun too, with a few hundred young people coming for catechesis and commitment within the movements and groups, animated by zealous and dynamic animators.

Last Sunday, November 24, on the Solemnity of Christ the King, he Christians of the Diocese of Mahajanga were at Berivotra, as every year, for the pilgrimage at the conclusion of the liturgical year. And for this year 2019, it was also the conclusion of the annual meeting of FKPD or “Filan-Kevitra Pastoralin’ny Diosezy” (Pastoral Council of the Diocese). The prayer of the Way of the Cross opened the day on the way up to the top of the hill where we celebrated Mass. The present Apostolic Administrator Bishop, Bishop Gustavo Bombin Espino preside the mass, in concelebration with the priests who work in the Diocese, assisted by a thousand attentive Christians. The rain, the muddy road, the sun and the heat did not diminish their zeal.
