During this month of november, the community is devoted to celebrating the conclusion of the year 2019 in every sector and works.

Thus we had the celebration of thanks for the work of the Oratorio, with all its members and leaders; for the thanks of the cooperators and benefactors of the Salesians and the educational personnel, pastoral and administrative agents of the works of the Colegio Salesiano Don Bosco Community of Guatemala.

But you will tell me: "And on the side of the young people. What is happening?" I would like to reassure you that, fortunately, extracurricular activities and meetings of youth movements and groups are still going on. Youth Ministry is still active. The Community has hosted and organized several activities and programs for our young beneficiaries. We celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation for the young people of the Parish and a formation session on the theme: "No son ustedes los que me han elegido, soy yo quien los ha elegido", which can be translated as "It is not you who have chosen me, it is I who have chosen you", for the leaders and animators of the different groups and movements of the Parish.

These are ACOLITOS (altar servers); MA (Misionarios del Alegria); JUVES; JDB (Jovenes Don Bosco) and SDA (Sociedad del Alegria). The different groups and movements meet regularly. The activities will continue until the end of December and at the moment the ACOLITOS are preparing a presentation on the Nativity for the 21st of December.

The new academic year will begin on January 3, 2020. However, I am not totally on holiday, as I have daily Spanish classes. My missionary confrere and I are enrolled for three months of classes in a European Language Academy. After that, the rest of the time we are "free" and we integrate ourselves little by little in the community and its works, especially in the country and its culture.

HASTA PRONTO ! See you soon,

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth
