Wednesday May 5, 2021 - Fifth week of Paschal Time - Abide in me, as I in you, says the Lord; he who abides in me bears much fruit - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 15, 1-8

If we were attentive to this sharing, it is the same passage from the Gospel, read last Sunday, about the parable of the vineyard. This does not prevent us from enjoying the riches of faith and spirituality contained in the Word of God. Jesus is indeed the vine, he is the source of life. In itself begins and is founded our existence.

We Christian believers are the branch. The branch cannot live on its own, but must unite with the root and the body. Simply put, the separated branch of the vine cannot survive, it dies and cannot bear fruit. It is not enough to simply abide and be in union with Jesus, but one must bear good fruit.

Let us note that detaching oneself from the vine is therefore a way of losing oneself, by refusing to live eternal happiness with God.

Finally, we are currently living a period of great difficulties, to help us turn to the vine and the source of life, let us privilege communion through family prayer, the reception of the word of God and spiritual communion in the Eucharist. , broadcast by the media every Sunday, although we cannot attend in person.

When we live in communion and with Christ, we no longer live, but it is Christ lives in us, says Saint Paul, so come, Jesus, come guide this pilgrim, because obscure is the way to go. Come, Jesus, come. Amen!
