March 09 — Frances of Rome lived from 1384 to 1440 Coming from a good family, her whole life, since her childhood, expresses total union with God, already preparing her to consecrate herself to Christ.
But her parents prepared a husband for her and she had to enter the marriage. Her home was exemplary, one could even say that it was a school of Christian virtues. Frances of Rome was a perfect wife and mother, her servants loved and respected her. Upon the death of her husband, Frances of Rome joined the Oblate Sisters, a congregation she herself founded. There she spent the rest of her life in the communion of prayer with her sisters.
His life was particularly marked by the grace of having his guardian angel visible and by his struggle against demons. In addition to her guardian angel, God sent her an angel who punished her. This angel was particularly severe and did not let the slightest fault, however small, of Frances, pass by, punishing her even in public. It is not visible but the blows he inflicted on Frances are visible to all. Regularly, when Frances knelt down in front of the icon of the Blessed Virgin, her angels join her there to pray with her. Usually, the artists represent Saint Frances of Rome with an angel.
Not once but regularly, as soon as a demon persecutes Frances of Rome, God sends his angels to drive out this demon. Once, while Françoise was praying, a demon grabbed her by her hair, dragged her on the roof and suspended her in the void, but God put her back in her room.
