February 26 — Nestor is a bishop who died a martyr in 251. Nestor proclaimed the Gospel in Magydos, present-day Turkey. Emperor Decius killed many Christians during his reign from 249 until 251.
Many Christians also abjured in order to be spared, so that this situation would not escalate, Nestor advised his flock to flee, while he surrendered to the Roman authorities.
At the end of its second General Assembly, held from 15 to 18 October 2024, the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace sent a message to government officials at all levels, as well as to all Malagasy and all people of goodwill.
