Sunday August 15, 2021 - Assumption of the Virgin Mary - Today the door to paradise opened: Mary entered into the glory of God; exult in heaven, all the angels - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 1, 39-56

Today the Church celebrates the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. This event is part of four Marian dogmas. But the Gospel that is offered to us relates to Mary's visit to her sister Elizabeth.

Elizabeth was surprised by the coming of the Mother of the Lord to visit her. But above all, Mary came to assist Elisabeth for the birth of John the Baptist. The Mother of God wants to be a servant, as she affirmed during the visit of the angel Gabriel to her home: "Here is the servant of the Lord", an attitude that Jesus will adopt later: "The Son of the Lord". man did not come to be served, but to serve ". Thus, both mother and son want to serve men.

The majesty of the Virgin Mary therefore does not reside in the grace that God granted her, but in her will to serve. Through his intercession, may we have this thirst to serve God and our neighbors in all humility and joy.
