This Gospel passage can be split into two parts. First, Christ announces what will happen to him: his passion, his death and his resurrection. However, he does not do it for himself - he knows that it is the Father's will that man be saved and his divine sonship revealed - but rather for his disciples so that they do not change their minds and that they do not lose faith about the power and might that they have experienced from Christ. A deep faith does not let itself be shaken by trials: this is the teaching that Christ wants to transmit to his disciples.

Next, Christ reveals his divinity, Beloved Son of the Father. It is customary for Jews to pay taxes to maintain the temple in Jerusalem, which symbolizes their religion. On the other hand, this temple is the expression of the presence of God in the midst of his people and Christ is none other than the Son of God, who came to accomplish salvation our salvation. It is not the intention of God to accomplish what needs to be done for him, it is up to men. But it teaches us the respect of laws and the observance of traditions. It is not only a matter of conforming to what the faith requires, but also of making the effort for society to be in harmony. It is Christ whom we follow, on him, we take as a model, that we attach ourselves to him body and soul.
