Sunday June 20, 2021 - Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time - A great prophet arose among us, and God visited his people - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 4, 35-41
"Who is he, this one, that even the wind and the sea will obey him?" Dear Christians, Holy Scripture clearly shows us that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, walks beside us. He shares with us our daily life: the torments, the precariousness, the graces, the sorrows and the joys ... But this passage in particular shows us the case where we are in difficulty, and once again and as always, Jesus is present. . This is normal, because besides, it was he who trained the disciples: "Let’s go to the other shore". But do we account for this permanent presence? Whoever agrees to walk with him, he takes him under his protection. "Come on", he said, that is to say, he is the guide and he takes care of everything. How often do we call on him in case of difficulty?
Another observation, although Jesus is with the disciples, this incident still took place. As great as our faith is, accidents and unforeseen events are part of our daily life, but this is not a reason to waver in our faith, on the contrary, it is an opportunity to strengthen it and confirm our confidence. in whom we believe. It is unfortunate to see faithful Christians who, often first, resort to divination, oracles and other ungodly practices, to try to overcome difficult times, instead of surrendering themselves to God. Whereas today's Gospel clearly shows us that he is the Creator God and that all his creatures obey him and that he is his absolute Master.
O Creator God, we beg your forgiveness for our lack of confidence and inconstancy. Make us aware of your omnipresence and that we firmly believe that you are the Creator God of heaven and earth.
